5 Goals to Accomplish in 2024
As we settle into this New Year, we’re also probably getting a little more acquainted with the resolutions we made and the goals that we set. That’s if we haven’t forgotten about it all. It’s not that we need a New Year to change, but most of us just need to feel like we’re getting a fresh start. Truth be told, each day and every moment is a new start it just a matter of believing it.
Change
If you’re a person who likes to be comfortable within your confines and hate change, I’m sorry to break it to you, but change either good or bad is inevitable and quite necessary in life. Whether its life throwing curveballs or even resolutions and goals to implement new behavior to phase out old ones, one way or another its meant to improve the quality of your life.
Be intentional:
It almost feels as if this last year passed by in a blink of an eye. It’s safe to say that time really does go by fast. Structuring our actions with purpose and a clear motive will create an opportunity for us to accomplish our goals. If we can ask ourselves “Why am I doing this?” or “Why is this important?” then we will waste less of our valuable time. Place everything where it needs to be, there is a purpose to everything.
Value the small things:
We’ve all heard “Don’t sweat the small stuff” and to a certain extent it might be true, but we shouldn’t rely on this saying too much. Nothing great ever happens overnight, everything goes through a process. It’s important to pay attention to the small details of our everyday lives, as well as our small habits. It’s the small things that generate the big results. How we do something, really shows how we do everything. Those habits where we’re dishonest with the small things, will bleed into all areas of our lives.
Take up new challenges:
Sure being comfortable is awesome sometimes, but if thats a way that we live our lives we won’t get anywhere. Let’s take our time and learn new things and seek uncomfortable challenges. We’ll surprise ourselves, we’re a lot stronger and smarter than we actually think we are. These new challenges will stretch us and give room for us to grow, otherwise we’d stay stagnant.
Speak life:
For a certain reason, we remember the negative words that have been spoken over us before. “Moron” and “You’re worthless” even “Go away and die”, and without us not knowing those words have affected us. Words of encouragement goes a long way. Whether we accept it or not, words have the power to build someone up or even destroy them. Speak words of praise, honor, gratitude, validation, and encouragement and see how your relationships improve. Having the ability to see in orders what they don’t see themselves, will take them where they need to go.
No more shortcuts:
A tree can grow fast and seem healthy while producing fruit, but the point of it is to produce fruits in longevity. A tree that has a firm and strong root will always outgrow the tree that grew too fast. All the shortcuts that we took, seem like it produced good fruit but it was only momentary. There aren’t any shortcuts in becoming a better person, with everything that we do, we must take it one day at a time.
